Global Forum On Water Video Streams Now Online
Streaming video of FotoFest 2004's GLOBAL FORUM ON WATER is now available for viewing on the internet. The entire two days of the Forum at Rice University can be viewed free in either Real Media or Windows Media formats by clicking the "more" button.

European Photography no. 75 Highlights FotoFest 2004
European Photography Magazine has focused its 75th issue on FotoFest 2004 - Water, exhibiting artists and the 2004 Global Forum on Water. Along with essays by Global Forum speakers Sandra Postel, William McDonough, David Auerbach, Maude Barlowe, and Neal Lane, the magazine has published images from nine FotoFest 2004 exhibitions including Steven Benson, Sant Khalsa, Mark Klett, Geoffrey Fricker, David Goldes, Susan Derges, Nils-Udo, The Institute for Flow Sciences and David Maisel. Publisher Andreas Muller-Pohle worked closely with FotoFest Artistic Director Wendy Watriss on this special 80-page issue that marks both European Photography's 75th issue and FotoFest 20th anniversary Biennial.

Special Limited Edition signed copies of European Photography #75 may be purchased at FotoFest Headquarters or through our online store for a discount price of $20.

FOTOFEST 1996 Kurdistan Exhibition Opens in Paris
FotoFest’s outstanding 1996 exhibit Kurdistan, In The Shadow of History, organized with author/photographer Susan Meiselas, is being exhibited in Paris. The exhibition opened June 22, 2004 at the Hotel de Ville. The exhibit, presented at FotoFest 1996 in conjunction with The Menil Collection has been traveling abroad for seven years abroad. The Paris opening is very timely. The exhibition presents the history of the Kurdish people in the Middle East since the mid 19th century through documents, photo albums, news and government accounts, and the work of international and Kurdish photojournalists. An accompanying website (http://www.akakurdistan.com) and book, KURDISTAN, In the Shadow of History, published by Random House, have been produced by Susan Meiselas.

FOTOFEST 2004 Artists in Exhibition at Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery, Dallas, Texas
The work of four artists from the FotoFest 2004 Meeting Place will be exhibited at the Photographs Do Not Bend gallery as part of the exhibition GLOBAL WARMING.

FOTOFEST 2004 Exhibitions at FotoArte in Brazil
FotoFest is presenting two exhibitions at FotoArte 2004 in Brasilia, Brazil: St. Petersburg, The Language of Water - Alexey Titarenko and Andrey Chezhin; and FotoFest 2004, Discoveries of the Meeting Place - Vincent Cianni, Brian Finke, Thomas Kellner, Elaine Ling, and Dominic Rouse. FotoFest founders Fred Baldwin and Wendy Watriss were among 12 international curators invited to review portfolios during the event.
