Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City, in collaboration with FotoFest, presents the FOTOFEST2008 Discoveries of the Meeting Place exhibit as part of Mexico's XIII Bienal de Fotografia. The exhibits open today, Thursday, February 19 in Mexico City. The Discoveries exhibit is part of a long term exchange between FotoFest and Centro de la Imagen, one of Mexico's most important photographic arts organizations.

The ten Discoveries artists were selected by invited curators as being among the most interesting of more than 300 artists at the FOTOFEST2006 Meeting Place Portfolio Review.The artists are: Seung Woo Back (UK), Brian Berman (USA), Vincent Delbrouk (Belgium), Kyung Duk Kim (S. Korea), Katarina Mouratidi (Germany), Dan Nelken (USA), Suk Kuhn Oh (S. Korea), Jacob Aue Sobol (Denmark), Michelle Sank (UK), and Voitech V. Slama (Czech Republic).

FotoFest Chief Curator Wendy Watriss was an invited juror for the XIII Bienal de Fotografia. The Discoveries presentation in Mexico is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico and Centro de la Imagen.
