FotoFest schedules student tours and artist visits for every one of its exhibitions, both during and between the Biennials. During FOTOFEST2008, over 800 Houston-area students visited the Biennial exhibits throughout the festival. The theme of this year’s FotoFest Biennial is Contemporary U.S. Photography. FotoFest has invited five curators to put together the four primary exhibitions that represent unique perspectives on this theme.

School Tours
-
FotoFest will provide a trained docent tour guide to walk you and your students through the exhibition, pointing out highlights and providing platforms for discussion.
-
Your tour includes a copy of the first lesson of the FotoFest 2010 Biennial curriculum My United States, which provides an overview of the four primary FotoFest exhibitions as a step-by-step guide for “reading” photographs.
-
The LTP office can help you plan your trip down to the minute, making sure that you don’t miss any of the must-see exhibitions along the way. We will even help you find a place for lunch!
Artist or Curator Visits
-
FotoFest will work with your schedule to arrange for an artist or curator to visit your classroom.
-
Artist/curator visits can be small and informal group discussions or formal presentations for groups of 100 or more.
-
FotoFest will provide transportation for the artist or curator.
