Peggy Sue Amison, Artistic Director
Sirius Arts Centre, Cobhn County Cork, Ireland
Sirius Arts Centre is a multidisciplinary arts centre that has been in operation since 1988. Peggy Sue Amison has been the artistic director of this institution for over 7 years. Her position includes curating exhibitions, organizing community arts programs, coordinating the Artist in Residency program and overall running of the institution. Although Sirius is a multidisciplinary arts organization, they have a special interest in promoting photography through the exhibition and residency programs. Ms. Amison has been a photographer for over 25 years, as well as a curator and arts administrator. She has written for American and international publications on photography. Past experience also includes reviewing at international photography festivals and coordinating an international conference on photography that took place in Ireland in November 2007.
Ms. Amison is most interested in reviewing work that looks at culture and identity, and is imaginative. She is least interested in reviewing wildlife photography and commercial/advertising photography. She can assist photographers with making connections to her organization and those of her international colleagues. She is looking for possible future exhibitions and candidates for the international residency program at Sirius.
Patrick Amsellem, Associate Curator of Photography
Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York
The Brooklyn Museum is an encyclopedic art museum with rich holdings of photography and contemporary art. Patrick Amsellem is the Associate Curator of Photography at the Brooklyn Museum where he is part of a curatorial group focusing on contemporary art. Formerly a curator at the Rooseum Center for Contemporary Art in Malmö, Sweden, Patrick organized the first Swedish exhibition of the work of Andreas Gursky in 1995. He has written extensively about art for newspapers and magazines, and has taught courses in art history and urban design at New York University. He received a Ph.D. in Art and Architectural History from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts.
He has a particular interest in issues of history, memory, and identity, as well as in work that deals with architecture and the urban environment, but he welcomes the presentation of a broad range of strong and well crafted work also beyond these themes. He is interested in engaging with photographers on many levels, including the conceptualization of a project, the editing, the presentation, and the wider discussions of ideas. He is not interested in seeing commercial photography.
Evgeny Berezner is currently Deputy Director in Photographic Projects of ROSIZO State Centre for Museums & Exhibitions of Ministry of Culture of Russia, and Director of pARTner project Foundation for Support of Photography. In 2003-2007 he was Deputy Director in Photographic Projects of Moscow Museum of Modern Art. He has curated more than 200 exhibitions, including 150 years of Photography, Moscow (1989); Art of Contemporary Photography: Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Moscow (1994); Neue FotoKunst aus Russland (in cooperation with Prof. Manfred Schmalriede); Photographer Arckady Shaikhet in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow and State Russian Museum, St.Peterburg (2001-2002); Russian Pictorial Photography, 1890-1990 (in cooperation with Irina Tchmyreva) at FotoFest 2002, Houston, and National Gallery of Slovakia, Bratislava (2002); Photographic History/Story. 1850-1950: Collection of Russian State Archive for Literature and Art, Moscow (2006). He was project coordinator of FotoFest in Moscow (4 exhibitions prepared and shown by FotoFest in Moscow in 2004) and international Adviser from Russia of the International Festival of Photography in Scotland in 1995-1997. Publications in Russian and foreign editions, includes Aperture (USA), European Photography (Germany), IMAGO (Slovakia), ArtChronika (Russia), FotoMagazine (Russia). Since 1995, he is co-editor and coordinator from Russia of the International Magazine IMAGO. He has been a reviewer at Portfolio Review in Bratislava (Slovakia) since 1999, at PhotoEspana in Madrid (Spain) in 2000, at Summer PhotoSchool in Poprad (Slovakia) in 2000, at Meeting Place at FotoFest, Houston in 2004, 2006, at FOTOBILD in Berlin (Germany) in 2008.
Mr. Berezner is interested in all shapes of photography and visual arts, looking for opportunities for future exhibitions and publications in Russia.
Howard Bossen, Professor and Adjunct Curator of Photography
Kresge Art Museum, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan
The Kresge Art Museum is the art museum for Michigan State University. It will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2009. Howard Bossen is the Adjunct Curator of Photography at the Kresge Art Museum (KAM) and a professor of journalism. He has curated exhibitions and written essays and books that have received critical acclaim. He is a former Fulbright Fellow and was Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Center for the Arts in Society at Carnegie Mellon University in 2002.
Mr. Bossen is interested in looking at all kinds of work: color and black and white, documentary and photojournalism, modern, post-modern, conceptual, etc. As long as it is of high quality and thought provoking he is interested in seeing it. He is also interested in looking at work that might fit the future exhibition and book project Steel: Hot Metal, Cold Reality. He will be making a list of photographers whose work can be considered for possible acquisition and/or exhibition at the Kresge Art Museum. Mr. Bossen does not wish to see slick advertising or commercial work. He can provide feedback on portfolios and advice on how to strengthen them.
Merrell Publishers, New York, New York
Joan Brookbank is U.S. Director of Merrell Publishers of London and New York, an award-winning publisher of art and illustrated books including exhibition catalogues in association with museums around the world. Ms. Brookbank's acquisitions for Merrell include Basquiat (six printings); American Ruins (two printings); Shelter Dogs (two printings); Optic Nerve; Indian Larry (two editions); Sombra; Frida Kahlo: Song of Herself; Frida Kahlo: The Still Lifes; and Zaida Ben-Yusuf: New York Portrait Photographer; among others. Ms. Brookbank was educated in the U.S. and France and has had a career in international publishing and bookselling since 1983, including positions with French, Swiss and British firms in the U.S.
Ms. Brookbank is most interested in reviewing projects with strong concept and content for trade publishing and is open to reviewing a wide range of work for consideration by Merrell. She can offer advice on presenting work to publishers and advise how to follow up on contacts with publishers. She can also help photographers explore leads and ideas for steps to take in one's career in order to be better prepared for approaching publishers.
Krzysztof Candrowicz, Director

Krzysztof Candrowicz is a founder and director of Lodz Art Center and Foundation of Visual Education in the city of Lodz in Poland. The foundation started the organization of the International Festival of Photography in 2001 and is now preparing the fifth edition in 2008. Every year during the festival Mr. Candrowicz coordinates fifty exhibitions and numerous workshops, lectures, slide-shows and movie presentations. As a director and chief curator of this event, he established an association of thirty European festivals of photography, called Photo Festival Union. The organization is responsible for common activities of European photo events, such as annual meetings, publications, photographic exchange and common promotion. From October 2005, he also became the director of Lodz Art Center, which began its activity in May 2006, as a center of international art exchange in Poland.
Mr. Candrowicz is interested in viewing work of international interest, particularly creative photography, documentary projects and new interdisciplinary approaches to the medium. He is not, however, interested in viewing nude, landscapes, flowers, or glamour photography.
Jean Caslin is a founding partner of Caslin Gregory & Associates, Consultants to Arts & Culture. CG&A provides coaching for regional and national visual artists, as well as exhibition, fundraising, editorial and event planning services for artists and organizations. Along with Diane Griffin Gregory, she curated or coordinated six exhibitions in conjunction with FotoFest 2008. Ms. Caslin holds a BA in English and art history from Boston University and an MA in art history from Stanford University. During 26 years in non-profit arts management, she served as administrator, curator, educator, and fundraiser while fostering the careers of emerging and mid-career artists. From 1979 to 1988, she was assistant director of Photographic Resource Center at Boston University. Caslin served as executive director and curator of Houston Center for Photography from 1988 to 2005. Since 1981, she has taught courses in the history of photography at six colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Texas. Her current course is "Contemporary Photography & FotoFest 2008" at University of Houston - Downtown. She also reviews portfolios for Photolucida, Center, and Society for Photographic Education. Jean Caslin wants to meet and support visual artists whose work shows innovative approaches to either traditional or experimental photography.
Daniel Cooney, Director

Daniel Cooney is the Director of Daniel Cooney Fine Art in New York City. DCFA is a gallery specializing in photography and works on paper by emerging artists. The gallery has been open since 2004. It has provided first solo shows for a number of artists that have gained international acclaim. Artists represented include Dan Estabrook, Tim Lehmacher, Carrie Levy, Julian Peirone and Sarah Pickering. Prior to opening the gallery Daniel was the Director of Photographs for Sothbys and before that, he was Associate Director of the Julie Saul Gallery. Mr. Cooney is most interested in seeing fine art work by emerging artist. No commercial or fashion, please.
Suzanne Dechert, Director
Melkweg International Cultural Center, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Suzanne Dechert is one of the founders and art directors of Melkweg, and International Cultural Center for music, dance, theater, cinema, photography and new media that has been in operation since 1972. She founded Melkweg Gallery in 1985, the first photo gallery in Amsterdam.
Ms. Dechert has curated solo and group shows and is interested in finding themed exhibitions dealing with social, political, and spiritual content. She is also interested in looking at portrait series and creative staged photography. Ms. Dechert is not interested in reviewing nudes, architecture, fashion, or advertising. She can offer the possibility of solo and/or group exhibitions in the Melkweg Galerie and can also advise and recommend ways for entering the “Dutch Field” in fine art photography.
Crista Dix, Gallery Director

Crista Dix has had diverse careers as a scientist, artist and businesswoman. She has worked in the Pacific Northwest photographic community for the last 10 years as a photographer, teacher and advisor, working with artists to refine their creative vision. Ms. Dix has been a member of panels and discussions on topics such as Women in Photography, and the Future of Digital Photography and the Arts.
Wall Space opened in 2004 focusing on and promoting new and emerging artists looking to incorporate photography into a larger vision. The gallery works with artists utilizing photography as a creative element, telling stories on multiple levels. Ms. Dix is interested in seeing bodies of work that cross the lines of the traditional image, transcending process or technique.
Missy Finger, Co-Owner
PDNB Gallery, Dallas, Texas
Missy Finger is co-owner of PDNB Gallery. Her partnership at the gallery involves sales, writing, publicity, research, and gallery management. She co-founded the gallery with her husband, Burt Finger, in 1995. Prior to opening the gallery, she and her husband acted as private dealers in photography and collectibles.
PDNB Gallery specializes in exhibiting contemporary works including conceptual, documentary, and social landscape. It also focuses on the 1970’s era of conceptual works and performance art. Additionally exhibited are vintage photographs by early 20th Century Masters. Ms. Finger would like to review work that departs from tradition. Conceptual work is preferred, although documentary is also accepted. She wishes not to view conventional nudes or conventional landscape. During the review process one can expect guidance on projects and, if possible, referrals and venue suggestions.
Roy Flukinger, Senior Research Curator

The Ransom Center is a research institution for acquisition, promotion, preservation, and development of the arts and humanities. The Photography Department was established in 1963 with the purchase of the Gernsheim Collection, one of the world’s greatest photography collections and the foundation for all future acquisitions and support enterprises. The tremendous range of its holdings and multi-disciplinary access to its collections make the Photography Department one of the finest resource institutions for the scholarship and study of photography and its history and influence.
Roy Flukinger is the current Senior Research Curator, responsible for the development and execution of a variety of on-going scholarly enterprises – including publications, exhibitions, lecturing, development, fund-raising, public access, teaching and research- in support of the goals of the institution. Before accepting his current position at the HRC in 2003, Mr. Flukinger held a variety of administrative appointments including his last position as Curator of the Photography Department for over 25 years. He has authored numerous books and articles, organized and participated in over 80 exhibitions, taught classes in many different disciplines, and lectured on a variety of subjects involving art and influence of historical and contemporary photography. He has also juried numerous exhibitions and competitions and served as a consultant and board member to many public and private institutions or organizations.
Mr. Flukinger can offer critique and constructive suggestions, recommend work for consideration of acquisition by the Center, refer photographers to other institutions or individuals who may be of help to them in their growth and careers, and future assist them in his own continuing or up-coming curatorial, editorial and administrative projects.
Anna Gripp, Editor
PHOTONEWS, Hamburg, Germany
Anna Gripp has been Editor of PHOTONEWS since 1989 and today shares the position of Chief Editor with Denis Brudna. PHOTONEWS is a magazine focused on the cultural aspects of photography. It is published ten times per year in German and is distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with worldwide subscriptions. PHOTONEWS reports on international festivals and events related to photography. The magazine publishes interviews with interesting persons from the photography scene, holds exhibitions and book reviews, updates recent news from universities, and awards scholarships and prizes. In each issue PHOTONEWS publishes a mixture of different portfolios from emerging and established artists including documentary, photojournalism, conceptual, and fine art photography.
Ms. Gripp is open to different fields of photography. She does not wish to see traditional nudes or flowers and commercial work for advertising.
Darius Himes, Editor
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Darius Himes is the founding editor of PHOTO-EYE, a quarterly magazine devoted to photography books, and a founding member of Radius Books, a Santa Fe based non-profit company that publishes books on the visual arts. He is a lecturer, educator and writer, having contributed to Blind Spot, BOMB, and American Photo. Mr. Himes is an adjunct professor of photographic arts at the College of Santa Fe. He also actively pursues his own photographic image-making.
Due to this diverse background, Mr. Himes is interested in viewing all bodies of work apart from commercially driven ones. He is happy to engage with photographers at all levels, from initial concept and intent behind a photographic project, to editing and determining if a book is the next stage for a project, to discussing appropriate publishers.
Eva Marlene Hodek, Director
Galerie Solaris, Prague, Czech Republic
Eva Marlene Hodek is curator and director of Galerie Solaris in Prague. Galerie Solaris is a newly opened gallery dedicated to contemporary fine arts. The gallery is located in downtown Prague.
Ms. Hodek is a former director of the Prague House of Photography (PHP), a non-profit institution devoted to photography. During her PHP directorship (1999 - January 2008) the PHP had presented both classic and contemporary, domestic and international photographers, with special exhibits devoted to classic fine art photography as well as regular exhibits of modern photography.
Her interest is viewing conceptual, experimental and issue-oriented works that operate within a social or cultural context, works employing a human, social or political theme. Besides, she would like to see fine art photography of architecture and portraiture. Ms. Hodek is open to new trends and to any innovative / creative approaches to the medium, approaches involving other media like video or internet. She is not interested in viewing photojournalism, any kind of commercial, decorative, editorial photography or photo installations, nude or glamour photography, traditional landscape or flowers. She can provide the opportunity of promoting and exhibiting photographer´s work at the Galerie Solaris or in other galleries and institutions in the Czech Republic.
William M. Hunt, Partner
Hasted Hunt, New York, New York
W.M. Hunt - Bill Hunt - is a New York-based collector, curator, consultant, and champion of photography. He is a partner with Sarah Hasted in HASTED HUNT. His "Collection Dancing Bear" is the subject of a book to be published by Thames & Hudson next year after exhibitions in Arles, Lausanne and Amsterdam. Mr. Hunt is on the boards of the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund, AIPAD, and The Center for Photography at Woodstock, and he teaches in the graduate program at the School of Visual Arts. For many years he has produced the "Your Picture" panels for PDN magazine.
Mr. Hunt likes to look at work that is resolved (not "works-in-progress"). He does not like to look at nude studies, but sex pictures are ok. As a veteran of portfolio reviewing, he can offer a critical response to an artist's work or career guidance.
Ann M. Jastrab is the gallery director at RayKo Photo Center. Rayko is a community photographic facility with rental darkrooms, digital labs, studio and galleries that has been serving the Bay Area for nearly 20 years. The Main Gallery presents eight to ten exhibitions yearly with many nationally recognized artists; there is also a section of the gallery called The Marketplace which is reserved for Bay Area artists and displays a wide variety of photographic work. While being the full time gallery director and curator, she also leads portfolio classes at RayKo. Ms. Jastrab has also been teaching at the Maine Photographic Workshops (now the Maine Media Workshops) in Rockport, Maine, since 1994. She has been conducting portfolio reviews for several years for The Worskhops as well as RayKo. Ms. Jastrab is always looking for new artists for the gallery as well as potential teachers, staff and students for The Workshops. She is most interested in seeing fine art photography, alternative processes and historical process work, and also work made with traditional film cameras as well as plastic and pinhole cameras.
Thomas Kellner, Founder and Director
Photographers: Network, Siegen, Germany
Thomas Kellner is an artist, teacher and collector who runs an artist-to-artist project called "photographers: network" since 2004. Every year he invites 100 artists to participate in an international juried show, based on trading prints. He has been on the board of different exhibition sites. Together with his partner he runs a gallery in Siegen, Germany. Mr. Kellner recently curated a show on contemporary dance photography for Art Galerie Siegen and a show of contemporary Chinese photography for the City Arts Gallery of Siegen. Mr. Kellner has published articles about exhibitions and festivals in magazines including Profifoto and Photonews, among others. He is well connected to all kinds of exhibition possibilities and media in Germany and Europe.
Mr. Kellner is interested in seeing all kinds of work, but with an individual and strong visual language. He is not interested in seeing any commercial or stock photography. He is able to give advice on how to improve one’s own career and can offer the possibility of including photographers’ in his projects and exhibitions.
Dennis Kiel, Chief Curator
The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film, Charlotte, North Carolina
The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film opened in 1972. Dennis Kiel has been the Chief Curator at The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film in Charlotte, NC, since July 2007. He is currently organizing two exhibitions for the 2008 season: a light generated show titled Into the Mystic and a mid-career retrospective for photographer Michael Wilson, known primarily for his portraits of musicians. Before his position at The Light Factory, Mr. Kiel was the Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Cincinnati Art Museum for 24 years. During that time, he curated many exhibitions, including The Hollywood Photographs of George Hurrell (later a traveling show for SITES), The Human Experience: Photographs by Nicholas Nixon, and Borrowed Time: The Photograph as Music Album Cover. For five years, he taught a class in the history of photography at Northern Kentucky University.
Mr. Kiel is interested in looking at and reviewing all areas of photography. His goal when looking at a photographer’s work is to help find something in the image—no matter how diverse or different the latter might be—that will lead the photograph and the artist in a better or possibly more focused direction.
Julie Kinzelman, President
Kinzelman Art Consulting
Julie Kinzelman is the President and Senior Project Manager on all projects. For six years Kinzelman Art Consulting has been providing arts-management services including: art acquisition advisement for corporate, institutional and private collections. Since 1995 Julie Kinzelman has been providing art consulting expertise to clients in the areas of acquisitions, collections management, curating exhibitions, educational art programming, public relations and marketing. From 1992-1995 Ms. Kinzelman worked at the George Eastman House, Museum of Film and Photography, Rochester, NY. In 1994 Ms. Kinzelman received her Master of Imaging Arts and Sciences, Fine Art Photography from The Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY and her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Photography from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. Ms. Kinzelman is interested in reviewing innovative or interdisciplinary approaches to photography in addition to fine art landscape imagery. She is not interested in viewing socio-political, documentary, environmental, nude/glamour, or flower photography. She can advise and assist photographers with appropriate ways of presenting their portfolios and work for consideration by Corporate Consultants and Collectors. She can also advise on aesthetic considerations that may assist photographers with content, composition, concept, printing and presentation.
Hans-Michael Koetzle is working as a freelance art critic, writer, editor and exhibition curator, based in Munich, Germany. Mr. Koetzle has been editor of Leica World magazine from 1996 to 2007 and is currently working on a re-launch of the magazine. As an art critic and writer he contributes to magazines including Photo International and European Photography. He published important books including “Photo Icons” and “Das Lexikon der Fotografen” (“Encyclopedia of Photographers”). Mr. Koetzle has been curating important photography exhibitions in Germany and abroad such as the retrospective of Magnum Photographer René Burri, shown in Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Kuba, Mexico and Argentina.
Mr. Koetzle is interested in viewing work which follows an idea, is based on a concept, and shows visual strength. If the work is not yet ready to be published, he is able to give advice or develop together with the photographer future possibilities to bring the work to an audience.
Patricia Lanza is working with the Annenberg Foundation as the Manager of Talent and Programming for their new center of Photography in Los Angeles, to launch in the fall of 2008. This center of photography will be a state of the art digital gallery and traditional print exhibition space. Ms. Lanza began her career in photography with the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC where she was a staff photography editor and then under photography contract, where she had over 700 pictures published over a 10 year period. Assignments have taken her to five continents and 40 countries. She writes articles for a variety of international newspapers and magazines, and she is currently under contract to produce articles (both writing and photography) with the Herald Tribune Syndicate News Corporation, which has a distribution network of over 70 newspapers. She has taught photography at the Tuscany photographic Workshop, The Otis College of Art and Design, and the Art Institute of Los Angeles.
Ms. Lanza is looking for new talent to present in the Annenberg Space for Photography. The Annenberg Space for Photography will be commissioning new work as well as supporting ongoing projects with grants and commissions. She also brings an extensive experience in proposing stories and ideas to editorial clients (magazines and newspapers).
Zuzana Lapitková, Curator
Central European House of Photography, Bratislava, Slovak Republic
Zuzana Lapitková works as curator in the Central European House of Photography, an institution of the FOTOFO association founded in November 2004. The house functions as a scientific institution in the field of photography, promoting quality photography from Slovakia and abroad. The organization has its own gallery and public library. It organizes public talks, screenings, auctions and other activities connected with the medium of photography. Ms. Lapitková is responsible for international contacts, projects and promotion. She is active as a curator and manager in the project of the European Month of Photograhy organized together with Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, House of Photography, Moscow, Café-Crème, Luxembourg, ZoneAttive, Rome, Kulturprojekte, Berlin and Vladimir und Estragon, Vienna. She also helps on the organization of the Month of Photograhy in Bratislava.
Ms. Lapitková is particulary interested in imaginary or manipulated photography, or in works that blur the borders of photo media and other visual arts media (for example video). She focuses on questions of work message and concept and the correlation between idea and form. She can offer photographers contacts to galleries and possibilities to exhibit their work.
Dewi Lewis, Publisher
Dewi Lewis Publishing, Stockport, United Kingdom
Dewi Lewis has extensive experience of working within the arts, specializing in cultural development projects. He began publishing photography books over 20 years ago, and established his own company in 1994. Mr. Lewis has published the work of many leading international photographers including Simon Norfolk, Martin Parr, Bruce Gilden, Bill Brandt, and William Klein. He can bring a realistic understanding of the world market for photography to photographers.
Mr. Lewis is interested in viewing work which has the potential of being published in book form for an international audience including projects which are at a developmental stage. He is not, however, interested in viewing nude photography as this is an area of work that the company does not publish.
Kevin Longino, Managing Director
Watermark Fine Art Photographs and Books, Houston, TX
Kevin Longino is a joint owner of Watermark Fine Art Photographs and Books. Opened in 2004, the gallery specializes in contemporary fine art photography, with a focus on emerging to mid-career artists. They are committed to advancing photography as an art form and bringing new, contemporary photographers to Houston. Mr. Longino is interested in seeing new perspectives on landscapes, portraits, abstracts, documentary, and architecture while using traditional, new or alternative processes.
Mr. James E. Maloney has been an attorney and photography collector for more than 20 years. He has worked with the photography accessions committee at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He is also a former member of the board of directors for FotoFest and the Houston Center for Photography. Mr. Maloney is most interested in viewing European, Eastern Europe, sheet photography and new techniques. He is not interested in reviewing landscapes
Carol McCusker, Curator of Photography
Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, California
For the last six years, Carol McCusker has been the Curator of Photography at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA), San Diego. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in art history with an emphasis on the history of photography and film at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including American Noir: The Photographs of James Fee (2003), Andrea Modica: Treadwell/Fountain (2005), and The Roads Most Traveled: Migration Photographs by Don Bartletti (2006). Ms. McCusker is currently Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego. She has worked with Manfred Heiting on Paul Outerbridge (Taschen 1999), and contributed essays to Terry Falke: Observations in an Occupied Wilderness (Chronicle, 2006), Phil Stern: A Life's Work (powerHouse, 2002), and James Fee: Peleliu Project (Seraphin, 2002). Such diversity reveals her enthusiasm for photography’s range and relevancy, from its earliest manifestations as a seemingly objective record to contemporary themes that challenge our way of seeing and knowing.
Ms. McCusker is most interested in seeing women’s work on landscape photography and documentary work. She does not wish to see commercial work or portraits of disaffected teenagers. Ms. McCusker can offer photographers exhibition possibilities, she can also incorporate work into a group exhibition, or write about their work in magazines or book publications.
Pedro Meyer and Nadia Baram, Editor-in-chief and Pictures Editor

ZoneZero is a website dedicated to photography and its journey from the analog to digital world. It is a non-profit organization specialized on the on-line publication of photographic work, discussion forums, editorial reviews and articles regarding photography. ZoneZero has been operating for 14 years from its headquarters in Mexico City. Pedro Meyer is the Editor-in-Chief. Hosting the work of more than a 1000 photographers from all over the world, ZoneZero is viewed by an average of 500,000 visitors a month.
Mr. Meyer is one of Latin America's most prominent photographers who, from the seventies on, expanded the awareness of international circles about the work done by his colleagues in Latin America. He has also contributed significantly with his pioneering work to bridge the transition between traditional photography and digital-image making. His work has been exhibited in over 120 collective exhibitions, and more than 100 solo presentations. He has been recipient of awards both in Mexico and abroad, amongst which he counts grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Rockefeller Foundation. He is currently working on a retrospective of his work, titled Heresies which will open simultaneously in 60 museums worldwide in the month of October 2008.
Nadia Baram lives and works in Mexico City. She studied Photography and Imaging at Tisch School of the Arts in New York University. She has published her work in magazines and newspapers in Spain, Mexico, China, and the United States. Her work has been part of collective exhibitions in China, Mexico, Brazil and The United States. She worked as videographer for the Hemispheric Institute of Politics and Performance, interned at Magnum Photos in New York, and worked as a still photographer on film projects in Mexico and US. Nadia has also worked as a freelance editorial photographer, and is currently picture editor at zonezero.com and participating in the preparation of Pedro Meyer’s retrospective Heresies.
They are most interested in reviewing non-commercial portfolios. As head of ZoneZero, they wish to publish fresh and exciting new work in a world-renowned virtual gallery.
Charles Dee Mitchell is a freelance art writer based in Dallas, Texas. He is a regular contributor to The Dallas Morning News and Art in America. Previously he has written for Artforum, The New Art Examiner, and ArtSpace. His essays have accompanied exhibitions at the Dallas Museum of Art, The Columbus (Ohio) Art Museum, the Armand Hammer Museum, and many university and commercial galleries. As a curator, Mr. Mitchell has worked with both non-profit and commercial galleries. He is retired from a 32 year career in the book trade during which he worked extensively with university and trade publishers of art and photography books.
Mr. Mitchell is also a photography collector with a particular interest in documentary work and photojournalism, but he is most interested in photography that takes a creative approach to nearly any subject matter. He is not interested in fashion photography or traditional nudes. He can help direct photographers to appropriate publishers and suggest how they might shape their material to make it more attractive to publishers. As both a collector and a writer he has worked with galleries in the United States and abroad, and would be able to direct photographers to venues that might be suitable for their projects.
Joan Morgenstern is a long time Houston collector of photography and has been involved in the fine arts community for many years. She is a past President of Houston Center for Photography. She is currently CoChair of the Art Committee for the Robert I. Kahn Gallery at Congregation Emanu El and she is a member of the Photography Accessions Committee at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
She is interested in many different types of photography and processes. She is also interested in work with Jewish subject matter.
Karla Osorio Netto is a lawyer and art historian as well as a contemporary art collector. She is executive director and curator of FOTO ARTE FESTIVAL in Brasília, Brazil, a biennial festival founded in 2002. Foto Arte is one of the most important photographic festivals in Brazil dedicated to photography and new media. Ms. Osorio is also a publisher of art books, specializing in contemporary art and photography.
Ms.Osorio is most interested in seeing bodies of work which are complete and which possess new, innovative or interdisciplinary approaches to the medium. She does not wish to see traditional nudes, landscapes and flowers.
Ute Noll is known for publishing and exhibiting cutting-edge, fine art, and documentary photography. She has been working in the field for more than 12 years.
In 2006 she started On Photography & Illustration. She works with publications such as the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper, and has published more than 300 portfolios of emerging photographers. Recently she opened the Uno Art Space in Stuttgart, where she regularly shows international exhibitions. Every month she contributes articles about photographers, exhibitions and photofestivals in the German magazine Photographie as well as other publications. Since 2004, Ms. Noll has been a curator and jury member of the annual international photo festival Darmstadter Tage Der Fotografie which also awards the new established 5000 Euro "Merck-Award of the Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie". She works occasionally as a part time lecturer for picture editing at the University of Applied Science in Dortmund. She has been a member of several international juries over the years and is regularly invited to international photo-festivals around the world.
Ms. Noll wants to see emerging photography which is theme based and shows a personal vision. She is looking for cutting edge, fine art, conceptual and documentary approaches. Color work in preference. She does not want to look at nude or landscape photography.
Ms. Noll has been invited to be the guest editor of issue 14 of the fantastic spanish documentary magazine OJODEPEZ. She can shape her dream issue and therefore is looking for "life celebrating, positive, colourful, cheerful, even funny documentary photography." She is interested in traditional documentary as well as personal documentary, conceptional photography, and projects which push the border or documentary photography.

Christopher Rauschenberg is co-curator and board chairman of Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Blue Sky was established in 1975 by Mr. Rauschenberg and 4 other photographers. Since then, Mr. Rauschenberg has co-curated 638 solo exhibitions by 502 different artists. He has edited and produced over 50 publications. Mr. Rauschenberg has been a photographer since 1973 and has had 83 solo shows of his own work in six countries.
Blue Sky Gallery is a non-profit artists' space which produces 30 to 36 solo exhibitions per year and an occasional group show every couple of years or so. They produce catalogs that reproduce 6 images from each show. Their focus and passion is on promoting emerging artists. Over the last 5 years, they have done solo shows by 53 photographers from FotoFest.
While Mr. Rauschenberg likes to look at everything, Blue Sky does not tend to exhibit classic, traditional nudes, portraits or scenic photography. The landscapes and portraits the gallery exhibitions tend to have documentary and sociological content.
Blue Sky is also looking for artists from Alaska, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon for our new Pacific Northwest Photography Viewing Drawers. The Drawers will exhibit 700 prints by 70 regional photographers, and be re-curated every 6 months.

Matthew Shaul is the operational director of 2 contemporary art galleries located in two different towns (Hatfield and St Albans) 5 miles north of London. The Galleries have been in operation for 12 years, and are a department of the Faculty for the Creative and Cultural Industries, University of Hertfordshire. As senior curator at UH Galleries he leads a predominantly lens based media program. Mr. Shaul has developed career exhibition and publishing opportunities with emergent artists from all over the world. Since 2002 he has developed many projects as major traveling exhibitions and developed partnerships with other galleries throughout the UK. Since 2005 ambitious historical projects have become an important part of the program. Mr. Shaul has worked on solo exhibition projects and on group shows with variety of lens based artists including: Faisal Abdu'allah, David Shrigley, Sergio Prego, Erasmus, Eve Sussmann, Annelies Oberdanner, Jason Oddy, Simon Lee and Alfredo Jaar. He has written extensively and published/edited exhibition catalogues for the majority of these artists.
Mr. Shaul is mainly interested in documentary, photo-journalism, photo-installation and contemporary art photography. He is not interested in seeing commercial photography, fashion photography, or wildlife photography, unless it falls into the categories above. He can assist photographers in developing projects and touring exhibitions with UK and international partners. He can help produce ambitious exhibition catalogues and work collaboratively with artists to build funding packages to facilitate projects. Funding packages are usually developed with a range of financial inputs and contributions from trusts, foundations and government sources in the artist’s home country.
Karen Sinsheimer, Curator of Photography

Karen Sinsheimer has served as the Curator of Photography at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art since 1992. During her tenure she has organized twelve traveling exhibitions accompanied by publications, as well as numerous photographic exhibitions from the permanent collection. At present she serves on the Board of JGS, Inc., a non-profit foundation that has a growing contemporary photography collection. The foundation has made possible over sixty single-artist publications to date.
Ms. Sinsheimer is interested in reviewing work by photographers who live on the Pacific Rim, including Latin America and the Far East, and she is particularly interested in artists who are investigating the intersections of art and science. She is not interested in reviewing commercial work.
Johan Sjöström, Curator

Johan Sjöström has been a curator at the BildMuseet in Umea, Sweden since 1998. The BildMuseet is a museum of international contemporary art and visual culture, and one of the leading institutions of its kind in Scandinavia and Europe. Mr. Sjöström has been invited to review, lecture, and curate exhibitions at numerous international photo events including Rencontres d’Arles in France; FotoFest in Houston, USA; FotoFest in Beijing, China; Rhubarb-Rhubarb in Birmingham, UK; FotoBild in Berlin, Germany; Artphoto Image Festival in Bucharest, Romania; Bratislava Month of Photography in Slovakia; and Skábmagovat in Inari, Finland. He has contributed to magazines including Artphoto, FotoMagazin and Paletten, and is also the editor of several publications including Lara Baladi- Kai’ro, The Politics of Place, Mats Hjelm: Trilogy, Mirror’s Edge, and Head North. He is on the advisory board o Pavilion Magazine, and together with Jan-Erik Lundstrom, he is curating the upcoming Bucharest Biennale, scheduled for May 2008.
Mr. Sjöström is most interested in reviewing creative, conceptually oriented photography and new media, political, postcolonial and multicultural issues, postmodern landscape, issues of gender, identity and sexuality. He is not interested in reviewing traditional documentary, classical nudes and landscapes or commercial work.
Heejung Song, Curator

Heejung Song has been a curator of Gallery Zandari since May 2005. Gallery Zandari focuses on presenting emerging artists from Korea and other parts of the world. The gallery deals with all kinds of art - painting, sculpture, installation, media art - with an emphasis on photography.
Ms. Song has curated and coordinated many exhibitions for the past 4 years. Among the exhibits she has curated are Han Sungpil’s Façade: Face-cade, and Kim Tai Kyun’s Blue in Blue. She helped coordinate the Dutch Contemporary Photography exhibition in Seoul.
Ms. Song is interested in fine art photography expressed in any way, conceptual with artistic intention, staged, and photo installations etc. She does not wish to review photojournalism and commercial works.
Lisa Sutcliffe, Assistant Curator, Department of Photography
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, California
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is a dynamic center for modern and contemporary art. SFMOMA began exhibiting and collecting photographs in 1935, the same year it opened. Today its collection spans the entire history of the medium, with strength in modernist and contemporary genres while also representing historic and vernacular forms of photographic practice. International in scope, while reflecting the distinctive character of our region, the Museum explores compelling expressions of visual culture.
Lisa Sutcliffe has been Assistant Curator at SFMOMA since April of 2007. She works on permanent collection rotations, special exhibitions, and photography acquisitions. From 2006-2007, Ms. Sutcliffe was the Koch Curatorial Fellow at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, where she co-curated group exhibitions of contemporary art and photography from New England.
Her area of focus is contemporary photography. Ms. Sutcliffe is particularly interested in idea-driven work, especially work that explores human interaction with the land, including creative photography, documentary work, and photojournalism. She does not wish to see commercial work.
Juan Travnik is an experienced teacher and curator in the field of creative photography; he is recognized as one of the most important contemporary photographers of his county. He has participated in many individual and group exhibitions all over the world and was a founding member of the Consejo Argentino de Fotografía. He has been awarded the fellowship of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 2006.
Mr. Travnik is Director of La FotoGalería del Teatro San Martín, founded in 1985. The gallery has a program of at least 12 exhibitions annually and balances the participation of emerging and established photographers. He is also Director of the EspacioFotográfico de la Ribera and Curator of Encuentros Abiertos de Fotografia. He can provide the opportunity to exhibit and present photographer’s work in Argentina.
Mr. Travnik is interested in seeing straight photography, essays on different subjects, new trends, new visions, digital photography and mixed media. He is not interested in viewing commercial photography.
Anne Wilkes Tucker, Curator of Photography

Anne Wilkes Tucker received undergraduate degrees from Randolph Macon Woman's College and Rochester Institute of Technology and a graduate degree from the Visual Studies Workshop, a division of the State University of New York. After working in various museums and universities, she joined The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in 1976 and is currently the Gus and Lyndall Wortham Curator. She founded the museum's Photography Department that now has a collection of over 22,000 photographs. She has curated over forty exhibitions, most of which were accompanied by a publication. She has contributed essays to monographs and catalogues and published many articles. She has lectured throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America and been awarded fellowships by the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and The Getty Center. In 2001, in an issue devoted to "America's Best", TIME magazine honored her as "America's Best Curator". She was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Focus Award from the Griffin Museum of Photography in 2006.
Paul Turnbull has guided the planning and creation of the Hallmark Museum at the request of Founder George J. Rosa, III, President of Hallmark Institute of Photography. It is a public access venue that exhibits a wide range of contemporary photography-based work created by well established and lesser-known regional, national and international artists. Hallmark Museum will be expanding its exhibition space, to include three new galleries in January 2008. Mr. Turnbull has curated exhibitions of the work of Barbara Bordnick, Jay Maisel, Kevin Bubriski, John Paul Caponigro, Douglas Kirkland, John Willis & Tom Young, Ron Rosenstock, Michael Yamashita.
Mr. Turnbull is most interested in seeing work of any genre from artists seeking museum exhibition or pre-publication feedback. He is no interested in product or fashion photography. He can offer the possibility of arranging a solo or group show or theme exhibitions in a museum. He can refer artists to other exhibition venues, or suggest publishers.
Enrica Viganó, Artistic Director

Enrica Viganò is a freelance curator and a writer, owner of Admira, a Milan based agency dedicated to the organization of cultural events in photography. Since 2001, she has been the artistic director of Foto&Photo, a festival held in Cesano Maderno (Milan), and since 1998 has been part of the PhotoEspaña staff as guest curator, and director of Campus (a workshops program). Ms. Vigano has curated many travelling exhibitions of renowned photographers throughout the world, and promoted emerging names as director of the gallery ClicArt, Milan. In addition to editing a number of books dedicated to relevant photographers, she has started the activity of publisher with Admira Edizioni.
Ms. Vigano is interested in all the wide range of photography suitable for exhibition, except commercial photography, and can offer the chance of showing in Italy and other countries.

Meeka Walsh is the editor of Border Crossings, an international arts quarterly now in its 26th year. She has won gold and silver medals for her critical writing at the National and Western Magazine Awards in Canada. Clint Willour has been curator of the Galveston Arts Center for the past seventeen years and has been an art professional for thirty-five years. He is active on boards of numerous arts organizations in Texas and has served as a juror for over sixty competitions in his career. Mr. Willour curates 24 exhibitions per year in Galveston, and serves regularly as a guest curator for institutions throughout the state of Texas and beyond. He is known for the multi disciplinary focus of his taste. Paul Wombell has been the Director of Impressions Gallery, York and the Director of The Photographers' Gallery, London. For the last two years he was the Festival Director of the Hereford Photography Festival, the only annual photographic festival in Britain.
He has edited many books on photography including Sportscape, The Evolution of Sports Photography, 2000; Photovideo, Photography in the Age of the Computer, 1991; The Globe, 1989 and Battle, Passchendaele 1917, 1981. He was one of the ten curators involved with the Phaidon publication Blink that looked at contemporary photography worldwide. His most recent publication is Local: The End of Globalisation; this accompanied the group exhibition of the same title, and was shown during Photoespana in Madrid last year. Presently he is curating two exhibitions for the 2008 Photoespana. Mr. Wombell is frequently invited to be a member of advisory boards and committees both in the England and in the rest of Europe. He has given lectures on photography around the world.
Mr. Wombell Is interested in a wide range of different photographic practices, but very keen to see the work of photographers from South America.

Madeline Yale is Houston Center for Photography's Executive Director and Curator. HCP's mission is to increase society's understanding and appreciation of photography and its evolving role in contemporary culture. Founded in 1981, HCP strives to encourage artists, build audiences, stimulate dialogue, and promote inquiry about photography and related media through education, exhibitions, publications, fellowship programs, and community collaboration. Recent exhibition projects include Txt Me L8r, a celebration of mobile technology in partnership with Aurora Picture Show, and Reality Interrupted, featuring the work of the Sanchez Brothers. On view during FOTOFEST2008 at HCP is Jeff Liao's Habitat 7 and Susan Meiselas' project Mined in China. Ms. Yale also serves on the editorial board of SPOT magazine, a biannual publication that includes portfolios, exhibition and book reviews, and articles on contemporary photography. Prior to joining HCP, she managed the photographic estate of Todd Webb (1905-2000), served as a photographic archivist, and organized exhibitions on photography and contemporary art in the US and Europe.
Ms. Yale is open to view a broad of photography. She is specifically interested in work that fits into one or several of the following contexts: artist as performer, humans' relationship to the environment, group dynamics, and cultural ethos and identity. Del Zogg has held the position of Manager of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Works on Paper Study Center since 2002. Prior to that he was employed (1981-2002) at the George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography & Film in Rochester, NY. He holds a bachelor's degree in Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master's degree from Syracuse University. His photographs are part of the permanent collection of several major museums.
Mr. Zogg has participated in portfolio reviews for FotoFest, the Houston Center for Photography, Atlanta Celebrates Photography, and Photo Lucida. He has curated several exhibitions at both Eastman House and MFAH, and recently taught The Big Picture: An Illustrated History of Photography for Rice University's Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. He is also scheduled to teach a photographic history workshop during the summer of 2008 for the Alfred C. Glassell School of Art of the MFAH.
Mr. Zogg is most interested in work that shows a mature vision no matter what the age of the artist. Antique or alternative photographic processes are of interest as are traditional imaging processes. Large format inkjet color images or digitally manipulated images are not of interest.
