FOTOFEST2008 - Participating Spaces
Participating Spaces
are museums,
commercial galleries,
non-profits,
artist-run spaces,
corporate spaces, and
retail establishments that
choose to exhibit
photographic art as
part of the FOTOFEST
Biennial. Participating
Spaces participate in the
oldest and
longest-running
photographic event in
the United States.
Participation includes listings in the FotoFest Biennial Events/Exhibitions Map, Calendar and other promotional materials distributed at locations throughout the city. 35,000 copies of the citywide Event and Exhibit Maps are printed in late February-early March 2008 and will be mailed nationally and internationally.
Additionally, Participating Spaces have the opportunity to promote their exhibits in the FOTOFEST2008 Biennial Catalogue at a subsidized price. The catalogue is the Biennial’s official publication. It is distributed locally, nationally, and internationally.
.
NEW!
This year FotoFest opened the FotoFest submission process to all Participating Spaces. The FotoFest Art Board and staff juried the best submissions on the themes of
CHINA and TRANSFORMATION.
In July 2007, FotoFest posted the FOTOFEST2008 Submission web pages with artists’ works, artist information, space requirements, and preference. These pages are only accessible to Participating Spaces. Participating Spaces are invited to review the pages and select artists to exhibit during the FOTOFEST2008 Biennial.
As usual, Spaces are welcome to present work of their own choosing. Artists selected from the FOTOFEST2008 Submissions website are not FotoFest-sponsored exhibits. Participating Spaces are responsible for art installation, framing, insurance, and FOTOFEST2008 catalogue pages.
We will be continually updating the FotoFest website. A listing of 2006 Participating Spaces is available on the FotoFest website.
If you are interested in being a Participating Space during the FOTOFEST2008 Biennial or are a Participating Space interested in the FOTOFEST2008 Catalogue, please use this form (PS08_catalogue.pdf).
