Brian Storm – MediaStorm (http://mediastorm.org)
Emmy-winning multi-media producer and founder of MediaStorm, Brian Storm shows how the digital age is giving photographers and artists extraordinary new ways to tell their stories and distribute their work. The workshop provides an overview of diverse approaches to multi-media storytelling and shows how top photographers are redefining their work to incorporate interactivity, animation, audio and video for distribution across multiple platforms.
Through real world examples, Brian Storm demonstrates techniques in how to move from concept to production in creating effective multi-media platforms for presenting narrative and conceptual art work. He shows how artists and photojournalists are juxtaposing the shooting of stills and video while combining images with audio reporting. He shares innovative ideas on how to spread the word about one’s work and build audiences through a variety of distribution platforms. The seminar-workshop is designed for creative artists, photojournalists, arts professionals and anyone interested in how to move into the multi-media world with their images. These multi-media resources relate to both the changing marketplace of editorial and commercial photography as well as the art world.
Brian Storm was Director of Multimedia for MSNBC.com from 1995-2002 and Vice President of News, Multimedia and Assignment Services for Corbis based in New York from 2002-2004. He founded MediaStorm in 2005 and has been honored with numerous prizes including four Webby Awards and two Emmy awards.
