Please note that each of the four 2010 Meeting Place sessions connects with WORKSHOPS, Curatorial Dialogues, Evenings with the Artists - Open Portfolio NightsExhibit Openings and Special Events.

These programs are open to all artists, curators, art lovers and the general public. They focus on professional development, online media opportunities, the role of curators in the contemporary art world, and ways to develop new interconnections between artists, arts professionals, art collectors and the general public. These programs are integral to the Biennial experience and FotoFest.

The FotoFest Meeting Place Portfolio Review gives photographic artists an unparalleled opportunity to have their work seen by important international curators, gallery owners,
magazine editors, representatives of photography agencies, collectors, and publishers from around the world. Artists are given the opportunity to have one-on-one reviews with these experts who can assist with exhibitions, publications and guidance for future career development.

For the FotoFest 2010 Biennial, FotoFest has 160 arts professionals participating in the Meeting Place.

The Meeting Place is the largest, most international program of its kind in the world offering sixteen days of portfolio reviews. Meeting Place registrants have special access to Citywide Exhibitions, Curatorial Forums, Artist Talks, and Open Portfolio Nights - Evenings with the Artists, where reviewers, collectors, and the public are invited to meet registrants and view their portfolios. 

Over the course of the last 20 years, the Meeting Place has been the catalyst for exhibitions, publications, and wider acclaim for many artists. For a list of some of the opportunities artists have been given as a result of the Meeting Place, please see the Successes of the Meeting Place page.

The registration fee is $820. There are four portfolio review sessions. Artists may register for one, four-day session of individual meetings with reviewers. Artists are guaranteed a minimum of four formal reviews per day in addition to informal meetings.

The Meeting Place Session Dates:
  Session 1: March 12 - March 15, 2010
Session 2: March 17 - March 20, 2010
Session 3: March 24 - March 27, 2010
Session 4: March 29 - April 1, 2010
