FotoFest 2000, The Eighth International Month of Photography

FotoFest 2000 exhibits highlighted new directions in cross-disciplinary work and contemporary experiments with historical photographic techniques. Exhibitions ranged from site-specific mixed media installations to classical black and white photography. In addition to exhibits curated and commissioned by FotoFest itself, over 90 shows were presented by Houston-area museums, commercial galleries, artists' organizations, university and corporate spaces.

INTERNATIONAL FINE PRINT AUCTION
102 artists donated photos for the FotoFest 2000 Fine Print Auction. Denise Bethel, Senior Vice President, Director of Photographs Department of Sotheby's was again the auctioneer. The auction took place at Foley's Downtown, on March 8, 2000.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Demostration and exhibition of printmaking processes with Houston artists in conjunction with Highlights of Northern Photogravure exhibit.
