Elda Harrington is an international curator and an independent photographer. Elda Harrington has been Director of Encuentros Abiertos, Argentina’s Photofestival, since 1989. For the past 25 years she has been Director of the Argentine School of Photography and the President of Luz Austral Foundation, which is an organization dedicated to promoting photography in Argentina. Previously, she had been Advisor for the Foreign Office Ministry and for the Ministry of Culture for the City of Buenos Aires.
She had been a reviewer for FotoFest Houston; Lens Culture-FotoFest Paris; Portfolio Review Russia; Foto Triennale .dk; PhotoEspaña; Mois de la Photo, Paris; Si Fest, Savignano, Italia; FotoFiesta, Medellin, Colombia; FotoRio, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil; FotoArte, Brasilia; FestFoto POA, Porto Alegre, Brasil; Foro de San Pablo, Brasil; Paraty em Foco, Brasil; Fotoseptiembre, México; Fotoamerica, Chile; and Ballarat Biennale, Australia.
Ms. Harrington is interested in reviewing innovative bodies of work that integrate new media. She is not interested in reviewing commercial work or photojournalism. She can provide an opportunity for exhibition and invite artists to participate at Encuentros Abiertos in Argentina.
