Jean-Francois Bérubé
Co-Founder & Co-Curator
Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie en Gaspésie, Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec, Canada

Jean-François Bérubé is co-founder and co-curator of Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie en Gaspésie. Founded in 2010, this annual festival of photography presents some thirty exhibits and installations, as well as a residency program for photographers.

Since 2006, Jean-François Bérubé has also taught photography at the school of design at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He has been involved in the dissemination of art photography in all its forms for several years.

Mr. Bérubé is interested in looking at coherent bodies of work and works-in-progress that demonstrate conceptual strength, originality of vision and excellence in craftsmanship– and that are suitable for exhibition. He is not interested in stock photography, abstract work, or commercial work. He can also offer general portfolio advice on presentation, critique of overall creative vision, and editing. Ideally, photographers should present a portfolio of actual prints as opposed to books or screen-based presentations.
