Amy Wolff began her career at a small ad agency in San Francisco. Ms. Wolff was later offered a job at the Presidio Trust as the staff photographer and producer, working on art exhibits and public programs, shooting friend's bands and personal work on the side. Leaving her cushy government benefits behind, Ms. Wolff moved to New York City in 2007, and began her photo editing career at Fortune magazine. One of her first assignments was to scan Walker Evans's original negatives.
Ms. Wolff joined Photo District News (PDN) in 2013 as their Photo Editor. Through feature articles and interviews with photographers, both established professionals and emerging talent, PDN provides its readers insights into photography techniques, successful business strategies, the latest ideas in branding and marketing, and new platforms for publishing and sharing images.
PDN and PDNOnline are part of Emerald Expositions, and its family of web sites—including Photoserve, Photosource, PDN Edu, the blogs PDN Pulse and PDN Photo of the Day, and the online sites for the PhotoPlus Expo and WPPI trade shows, is an unparalleled source of information and education for professional photographers, photo buyers, visual creative artists, photography agents, photo students and their instructors, and people who simply love great photography.
Because PDN covers all aspects of photography from seasoned professionals to emerging talents, Ms. Wolff is interested a good photography story. That could mean a completed long-term documentary photo project, or about how you were able to transition personal work into an editorial or advertising assignment. I'm interested in all aspects of photography – documentary, portraiture, advertising, fashion, food, travel, etc.
