Curatorial Assistance, Photography
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX, USA
Allison Pappas is the curatorial assistant for photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Before starting her position in Houston, she spent the 2011-2012 academic year as the Graduate Intern in the Department of Photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Ms. Pappas holds a BA from Brown University in History of Art and Architecture and Anthropology and an MA from Williams College in History of Art, focusing on the history of photography. While a student, she also held internships and fellowships in the Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Williams College Museum of Art, and the Williamstown Art Conservation Center.
Ms. Pappas is interested in reviewing creative photography, documentary photography, and photojournalism. She prefers seeing portfolios that feature work from at least one fully developed project by the photographer and would rather view prints than a digital display.
