Jean Caslin is a founding partner of Caslin Gregory & Associates, Consultants for Arts & Culture. Along with Diane Griffin Gregory, CG&A provides coaching for visual artists, as well as marketing, editorial and development services for artists and organizations. Caslin holds a BA in English and art history from Boston University and an MA in art history from Stanford University. During 26 years in non-profit arts management, she served as administrator, curator, writer, and educator while fostering the careers of emerging and mid-career artists. From 1979 to 1988, she was assistant director of Photographic Resource Center at Boston University. Caslin served as executive director and curator of Houston Center for Photography from 1988 to 2005.

Caslin has taught courses in the history of photography at six colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Texas and courses in arts administration in Texas. She is interested primarily in fine art and documentary photography. She wants to meet and support visual artists whose work shows innovative approaches to either traditional or experimental photography. A special interest is work that shows an awareness of the relationship between arts and healing. As independent curators, Caslin Gregory & Associates seeks work for exhibitions in non-profit, hospital and alternative venues.

Diane Griffin Gregory

Diane Griffin Gregory is a founding partner of Caslin Gregory & Associates, Consultants for Arts and Culture. The firm offers coaching, curatorial, grant writing and strategic planning services to individual artists working in all media as well as to the corporate and non-profit sectors.

Gregory holds a BA in French and a BA in studio art from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX. She was employed at Art League Houston from 1992-2000 and held various positions, including interim director. From 2000-2005, she was administrative director at Houston Center for Photography. She served as Program Chair and Vice President on the Board of Directors for Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WiVLA) from 2009-2012. Currently she is a member of the Houston chapter of ArtTable, a New York-based professional group for women in the arts community, and The Professional Group, serving on the Membership Committee.

A practicing visual artist in various media since 1985, Gregory completed a public art project for Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center (Liberty, TX). Her work has been exhibited regionally and internationally, including FotoFest 2008 and 2012.

Gregory prefers fine art and alternative process photography. She looks forward to beginning the dialogue with new artists as well as visiting again with previous participants. She is interested in viewing the actual prints from one or two key series and engaging with the artist about the work. Gregory has been in partnership with Jean Caslin for eight years and has been instrumental in several clients' successful participation in FotoFest 2008, 2010, and 2012. Caslin Gregory & Associates seeks work for exhibition in alternative, hospital and non-profit venues.
