The FotoFest 2012 Fine Print Auction offers collectors the first opportunity to access leading contemporary Russian photography. Hand-picked vintage and later contemporary works by 30 Russian and Ukrainian artists will be featured in the 2012 Auction.

As one of the main events of the FotoFest Biennial, the Fine Print Auction will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston Downtown. Works by forty top contemporary artists from the U.S., Asia, Latin America and other parts of Europe are joining those from Russia.

Denise Bethel, Senior Vice President, Head of Department, Photographs, Sotheby's New York is leading the auction. Table sponsorships and reserved seating are available. Table sponsorships start at $3,000.

The Online Preview of the Fine Print Auction and absentee bid forms will be available on the FotoFest website in early February 2012.

The Auction Preview Exhibition opens March 1, 2012 at Gremillion & Co. Fine Art Inc in the Rice University area of Houston. The Preview Exhibition is free and open to the public at Gremillion Fine Art through March 13, 2012. The Preview will be on view at the site of the Live Auction, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, for four days, March 17 - 20, 2012.

The Fine Print Auction Fundraiser and Live Auction event are being chaired by Eloise Frischkorn and Meg McGuire with a committee of collectors and the FotoFest Board of Directors.

Revenues from print sales at the Fine Print Auction benefit FotoFest's art programs. Proceeds from Auction ticket and table sponsorship benefit FotoFest's year-round classroom-based education program, Literacy Through Photography, in Houston-area public schools. LTP provides more than a thousand students annually with cameras and a curriculum using photography to improve writing and cognitive skills.

The Biennial Fine Print Auction is FotoFest’s most important fundraising event. It is designed to honor artists and put exceptional work in the hands of serious collectors. The Auction offers unparalleled access to some of the finest contemporary photographic art from around the world.
